Today, people pay more and more attention to backup Android files. So, there are many methods available to make a backup for Android data. And among these means, saving files to OneDrive is the most popular one since it allows users to backup, store and sharing files. However, many people know how to transfer Android files to OneDrive but do not get the way to save files from OneDrive to Android phone when they want to view the OneDrive files on an Android phone. That's why we write this article.
Part 1. Download OneDrive Files to Android
Offline maps are downloaded on your device’s internal storage by default, but you can download them on an SD card instead. If your device is on Android 6.0 or higher, you can only save an area to. Google Drive is a massive cloud storage tool that is especially useful thanks to its integration with the rest of Google's programs and applications. This, which works out pretty well in other operating systems, especially comes in handy in Android, where everything is comfortable working with Drive.
The first option is to install the OneDrive software to your Android phone and then download the files to the device directly. The operating process is very simple and you can follow the detailed steps below to have a try.
Step 1. Enter the OneDrive on your phone
Download the OneDrive for Android application on your phone and launch it. Next, you will be ask to sign in your account. Just type in the user name and password to enter the OneDrive.
Step 2. Select your wanted files
Select the photos, videos or files that you want to view and tap on Save button at the bottom. Then a pop-up window will appear. Just click on the Save button at the upper right corner.

Step 3. Save the selected OneDrive files to Android
The files will be saved in the 'Download' folder on your Android phone. You need to wait for a while till the downloading process finishes.
Notice: Please make sure that your device is connected to Wi-fi or cellular data during the downloading process or it will be failed.
Part 2. Save Files from OneDrive to Android Phone on Mac
You can choose to save OneDrive files to Android phone on Mac as well. This method can be completed in virtue of a program- Android File Manager. It would be better choice when you tend to save OneDrive files to multiple Android devices at the same time.
Step 1. Run the program on your Mac
The first thing you need to do is to download and install the mentioned software on your Mac. Then launch it and click on the Document button at the upper right corner.
Step 2. Log in your OneDrive account
Select the OneDrive option from the list and then sign in the OneDrive account. Here, you will be asked whether you allow it to access all information in your account. Just tap on Yes to confirm it.
Step 3. Copy OneDrive files to Android
Use USB cable to link your Android device to Mac. You should enable USB debugging on your phone here or you will get a failed connection. Now your Android mobile phone and OneDrive will be displayed side by side. Just elect the files you want to move and tap on Copy button to transfer the OneDrive files to your Android phone.

When you launch the app, it will ask you to connect your OneDrive account to Autosync. Set it up to view the three-tabbed UI highlighting Status, Sync History, and Synced Folders.
To make a folder pair, head to Synced Folders and hit the ‘+’ icon. The folder pair menu will ask you to choose the remote folder from OneDrive and a local folder from device to keep them in sync. In the example below, I have created a pair for ‘Screenshot’ folders in the app. Select the screenshot folder from the device storage and add a similar folder on OneDrive where all the screenshots should automatically get uploaded from now on.
Before finalizing the folder, the menu will ask you to choose the way you want them to be synced.
You can choose from the following options:
- Two-way to keep both folders in sync
- Upload only for adding device folders to the cloud
- Upload then delete to erase the images from PC once they are uploaded
- Upload mirror to make an exact copy of a device folder to the cloud
- Download only to fetch the newly added images from cloud to a device
- Download then delete will download images from cloud to device and will delete it from the cloud folder
- Download mirror will make an exact copy of cloud folder to a device
My advice would be to go with Upload only option as it will get the job done while keeping an offline copy on the phone. Hit the Save button, and you are good to go.
From now on, whenever I take a screenshot, it automatically gets uploaded to OneDrive > Picture > Screenshot folder. Neat, isn’t it?

You can also track all the past syncing process by visiting the sync history menu. When the Autosync detects any change, the file gets synced to the chosen folder on the cloud and the whole process ends with a notification.
Choose When to Start and Delay Sync
In the Autosync for OneDrive app, head over to Settings > Autosync and you will notice several options to choose from on how to start the sync process. Select the charger as a power source if you only want to upload images when the device is charging. And if you opt for battery and charger option, you can choose at which battery level if should sync.
If the Autosync service has been unreliable for you, turn on the Monitor service in foreground option. It will keep the service active and display a persistent notification icon. The last option lets you choose to sync the folders on either Wi-Fi, Ethernet, or a mobile connection.
About security, Autosync lets you turn on the passcode or fingerprint authentication for safe access. Go to Settings > Security and enable Passcode option. You can also select Passcode timeout and set a passcode to access only the settings menu.
Backup and Restore
When changing phones, you won’t want to setup folder pairs once again on the new device. To tackle the issue, back up the app settings from Settings > Backup and it will generate the backup file on the device folder. Restore that file on the new device to auto-add folder pairs.
Pricing Model
The free version of the app comes with ads and limits you to pair only one folder. The added functionalities lie in the Pro version which unlocks multiple app pairs, upload support for files larger than 10MB, no ads, multiple accounts, and a passcode option. Tap on the three-dot menu at the upper right corner of the screen, select upgrade pro option, and from there you can purchase the premium version.
